The character of the novella by Marko Rudnevych, a young Ukrainian writer, reminds us somehow of the Salinger`s Holden Caulfield. A 19-year old Max from the city of Smila tells us a story of his life easily and frankly: about his University, his fellow students, his family, his beloved girl Ivanka, who studies in Kyiv but her parents want to send her away to study in France… But what happens is the Maidan, and Max goes to Kyiv with his peer.
Ultimately, this is a story about three crucial hours at the Maidan. You will remember everything, you will live through all these restless February days once more and you, maybe, will cry, and you will remember Max from Smila, that simple guy with sincere soul, for a long, long time...
